Community Outreach
The Child Protection Center, Inc. (CPC) receives funding and in-kind donations for the demolition and removal of their hazardous storage building. These efforts coordinated by Vengroff Williams, Inc. President, John Antonucci have allowed the CPC to keep budgets allocated to vital programming.
The Child Protection Center
While taking a tour of the Sarasota based CPC facilities, John Antonucci, Division President of Vengroff Williams, Inc. (VWi), was inspired by the nonprofit’s mission of the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse and the impact made on the community.
During the tour, Sheila Miller, CPC’s VP of Philanthropy, mentioned a challenge they were facing. A sizable and hazardous storage building needed to be demolished on their grounds. The project cost was high and it was preventing the non-profit from expanding the facility to accommodate the growing community.
“I am going to help you gather funds to tear that building down,” John said. “You shouldn’t take fundraising dollars away from programming. You need to help these kids.”

Vengroff Williams Connects the Dots
First, Mr. Antonucci called in critical infrastructure resources to see that the project was expedited. Next, Vengroff Williams, Inc. provided the leading donation to fund project. Then, in-kind donations were raised from community partners Aqua Plumbing, Veteran Air, and Graeber Excavating.
As a result, funds raised by CPC could now remain allocated to vital programming efforts. Enabling the programs and facility to expand while continuing to serve the children and families who face the traumas of child abuse.
“Sarasota is lucky to have such dedicated people at the CPC working to protect our children,” John commented. “The Board of Directors at VWi were glad we were able to support the CPC in this project.”
